Reflections from IT Nation in Copenhagen

In May, I had the privilege of attending IT Nation in Copenhagen — and I’m still buzzing with ideas, inspiration, and gratitude. It was an incredible few days filled with learning, reflection, and connection, all set against the stunning backdrop of one of Europe’s most vibrant cities.

Organised by ConnectWise, IT Nation brings together a global community of technology leaders to exchange ideas, challenge each other, and grow — not just as businesses, but as individuals. This quarter’s theme focused on legacy, a word that really resonated with me and many of my peers. It encouraged us to think beyond the bottom line and instead reflect on what we’re building, why it matters, and what kind of impact we want to leave behind — for our teams, our clients, and the wider community.

A Shared Passion Among Leaders

What struck me most was the level of openness and authenticity in the room. These weren’t just technical discussions or sales strategies — although there was plenty of practical knowledge shared, too. This was about leadership in its truest form.

We talked about the challenges of scaling, maintaining company culture as teams grow, and navigating the ever-changing landscape of IT services. But more importantly, we connected around shared values: the drive to build something meaningful, to continually improve, and to create workplaces where people thrive.

It’s a rare and powerful thing to be part of a group where everyone is not only managing complex businesses, but also united by a common passion: making a difference and loving the journey.

Bringing It Back to AMP Info Sys

I came away from IT Nation with a renewed sense of purpose, and I’m excited to bring that fresh thinking back to the team at AMP Info Sys. From leadership strategies to operational improvements, there are tangible takeaways that will help us evolve, grow, and deliver even more value to our customers.

One of the core messages I’m bringing home is the importance of trust and reputation — not just as buzzwords, but as pillars of sustainable success. In a world where technology shifts rapidly, the strength of your relationships — with clients, colleagues, and peers — is what truly matters.

Copenhagen: The Ideal Backdrop

Of course, it wasn’t all boardrooms and whiteboards. Copenhagen provided the perfect setting for deepening relationships and recharging creative energy. Whether it was zipping around the city on e-bikes, enjoying a sunset boat trip, or sharing stories over dinner, these personal moments helped cement professional connections.

A special shout-out to Sasha Roshan for being the unofficial adventure guide — from e-bike escapades to spontaneous detours, you helped make the experience all the more memorable. And a huge thank you to Luke Mead for expertly facilitating our group and fostering such an open, productive environment.

I’d also like to extend my appreciation to Arlin Sorensen, Dan Scott, Jermaine Gibson, Nick Haley, and so many others who contributed to the energy and insights of the week. It was a privilege to share the space with such dedicated and visionary leaders.

Looking Ahead

As I reflect on the experience, one thing is clear: community matters. No one builds a legacy alone. Having a network of supportive, honest, and driven peers is one of the most valuable assets any leader can have.

Here’s to continued growth, collaboration, and legacy-building — not just for ourselves, but for the people and businesses we’re fortunate enough to impact along the way.
