Adam - Founder, Managing Director and Client Advocate

Adam’s journey in IT began back in the late 80s, when he worked as a data programmer for an international textiles manufacturer, back when computers were a very different beast! Fast track to the late 90s, Adam founded AMP InfoSys with a simple goal: to build a company that delivers expert IT solutions while building lasting client relationships. Today, he leads the business with a strategic focus but still enjoys rolling up his sleeves for the occasional hands-on technical challenge. He is an active member of IT Nation Evolve, where he continually works on business growth and leadership development skills. Outside of work, Adam’s passions run fast and active. He’s a dedicated gym-goer, a competent snowboarder, and a motorsport enthusiast. Life is never dull, especially with the added roles of proud dad and husband keeping him on his toes.

Jim - Director of Operations, Technology & Security

A cornerstone of AMP for over 20 years, Jim (aka James) brings a wealth of knowledge, skill and experience to the team. A true all-rounder, he's highly respected by colleagues and clients alike for his depth of expertise and calm, methodical approach. James thrives on exploring emerging technologies, especially when he gets to “break” them in the name of security. He's particularly passionate about ethical hacking and recently achieved standout results in a competition hosted by CyberDrain. In 2026, he is going to be working on a prestigious ethical hacking qualification, enabling to become an OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional). Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his family. When he gets the chance to unplug, you'll likely find him outdoors, and if there's snow, there's a good chance he's snowboarding down it.

Mark - Managed Service Team Lead

Over 20 years of IT experience have made Mark our resident expert on all matters of digital security. He started out with a personal interest in computers – building PCs for family and friends – and a full-time career grew from there. He’s a natural problem-solver, so if you need advice with anything relating to virus protection or cyber security, he’s the man to call. In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family and being a dad. Also, he has taken up running in recent years, competing in some local charity runs and 10k races. Most recently, he raised money for Brian House Children's Hospice, running a family fun run dressed as The Grinch!

Why AMP?

AMP: A Lancashire IT Company

AMP is a Lancashire-based IT specialist with a big heart and a personal story. We began life in 1999, offering outsourced IT support to small businesses in Garstang and the surrounding area. Back then, it was just three of us: Adam (our founder), Jim (who’s still with us), and Adam’s sister working from above the garage. Through reliability, technical know-how and good old-fashioned customer care, we built trusted relationships and laid the foundation for what AMP is today.

As demand grew, so did our ambition. We moved from Garstang to Preston and brought more brilliant people on board. In 2015, we took the leap and bought our own building near Preston Docklands.

Today, AMP still operates from this purpose-built premises just off the new M55 junction. We provide honest, responsive and reliable IT support and services to businesses across Lancashire and the wider North West region from Cumbria to Greater Manchester.

From day-to-day support and cyber security to strategic IT planning, we help clients thrive in a fast-moving digital world. What matters most to us are the relationships we build. We’re proud to be more than just IT support – also a trusted partner, ready for whatever the future holds.
